Use the Power of Knowledge
The power of Knowlegde is a power to be a powerful wittness of Christ.
I find it so amazing how Paul reacts to the questioning of the courts of Agrippa, Felix and Festus. In all cases, he is calm and collected, and uses the knowledge about the law to his advantage. IE that he is a Roman, and always remembering that they really don't have anything on him. He does not fear man more then God.
I think that if we do the same as Paul and get ourseleves a little knowledge about everything that we will be able to be greater wittnesses for Christ. Going along the same lines, we are commanded to search out learning out of the best books.
If we let the lord shape us as we strive to become like him, then we will become a fine tuned instrument in the hands of the lord that he can use in a very wide variety of ways, to fill the mesure of our creation.

Your post reminded me of the scripture Mosiah 27: 36
And thus they were instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of the truth, yea, to the knowledge of their Redeemer.
As we gain knowledge we can be that instrument in God's hands and help bring others to the same knowledge. It is important we set the example ourselves so we can be capable of reaching out to others.
One thing that stood out to me a lot about what you said was when you wrote about reading from the best books. Growing up in the church I just figured that the prophet just sat in a room and studied the scriptures all day. I am always suprised when general authorities quote secular writtings from plays to poems in their talks. It shows that they are doing as the Lord commanded to search out the best books not just the scriptures. I know they devote adequate time to reading the scriptures as we all should but it is also important to seek out other books from inspired men around the world.
